Fantastic
March 28, 2008
I am and always have been a big fan of HBO's original series. I must say that they have not disappointed as of yet. From "The Sopranos" to "In Treatment" i have been a loyal viewer. Although, i was a tad disappointed when they cancelled "Carnivale." I have read that the new series "In Treatment" did not have alot of viewers. I do so hope this is not true. It concerns me that perhaps it will not be picked up next season. I found the writing and the acting top notch. In my opinion. It is one of the most interesting series HBO has had to date.

we feel a sense of loss now that the final episode
March 30, 2008
both my husband and I were mesmeried by the characters in this program. Finally a show that has real characters instead of the usual acrobatic unrealistic sexual and filthy words filled shows available on a daily basis.
In Treatment every actor is real, so much so that we felt we were sitting in that therapist's office feeling their pain, love and anguish. Everyone of them are superb actors but you never for a moment feel of think that they are acting. We particularly liked "Sophie" who actually brought tears to my eyes in spite of sitting in our bedroom and staring at a old fashined TV set, I actually forgot my surroundings just watching her. Every character is stunningly real as if they were really living the part.
I of course fell in love with Gabriel Byrne who in spite of his not so young, not so perfectly handsomeface is compelling and very sexy in a comfortable, warm way, nevertheless very, very attractive I think to both men and women. He is what the Italians call"molto simpatico"
We are what we consider sophisticated seniors and rather selective in our taste in entertainment but In Treatment had us captured, we did not go out on the evenings that the series were on, couldn't miss an episode.
Now that we have seen the final episode we feel a sense of loss, we miss all the wonderful characters and their faces and voices are still in our minds and ears.
Please tell me that there will be more of this intelligent, terrificly entertaining show for people who are so sick of the garbage that is on TV or in the movies these days.
Whoever wrote these episodes (and I guess there were different ones for each episode??) must have been in therapy or is a keen observer of people from all walks of life. I would love to have more information how these episodes were made and any information regarding the actors. It is very interesting to note that "Paul" is an Irish actor, Laura" is Australian and "Amy" is South African. Excellent cast, hope to see more of them.
Thank you for a superb, aborbing, intelligent drama series, please let us have more in this genre.
