Gabriel Byrne is the reason it works.
September 20, 2009
I have watched Gabriel Byrne in many things over the years, and In Treatment is another example of Mr. Byrne's intelligent delivery. He is unsurpassed in not only his acting ability, but the empathy drawn from the viewer even in his own imperfection. This show is a prime example of "reality" TV without being reality. I work in a multiple therapists office and this is the most realistic presentation of what happens in therapy next to sitting on the patient's lap. Hopefully, HBO can convince Mr. Byrne to do yet another season of this superior series.

I just want to climb through the screen and sit on his couch! Gabriel Byrne is the ultimate therapist.
The concept of this show is original, unique, innovative and progressive.

ADDITIVE!
April 1, 2009
This show is additive and great theatre. It's like watching a live show that has a great intenitive character study. At the same time I relate to many of the emotional and painful issues in my own personal life. It's great writing, directing and producing. I love Gabriel Byrne as he performs as I would want my own therapist. I have copies of all the previous sessions, and I have watched them all more than twice. Since I am a true additive viewer, the only drawback is having to wait this long before it returns by to air. THAT IS TRULY PAINFUL. I need Paul as often as possible.
Good drama is in a short supply in t.v.and In Treatment has made it possible to have something that each person can relate to as a realistic part of our lives. I think all of us could benefit from a therapist in our lives. Paul Waton is mine!

What is HBO Thnking?
July 11, 2008
This show has been one of the best new series that have been introduced in years. What is HBO thinking by not renewig this series? Everyone I talked to who has seen it, has found it to be addictive. Excellent cast, great story lines. HBO - THINK AGAIN. Give the public a chance to discover it before you cancel it.

In Treatment was created in Israel
April 22, 2008
First I wanted to give credit where it's due. In Treatment is NOT an HBO original series. It is taken from a very popular TV show (now in its second season) called Be'Tipul ("in treatment" in Hebrew) running in Israel. In fact the plot lines of all the characters are remarkably similar in both versions. Both versions are fantastic, I've seen them both. Great great television and a wonderful innovation in television to come out of Israel.
