AMAZING
March 17, 2008
This has got to be the most powerful drama to date, that I have ever watched! I did not like History very much while in school, but this made me wish I had paid more attention while studying it.
I have watched Paul Giamatti in several movies, comedies mostly and I am blown away by his performance as the "Father" of American Independence! Who knew his depth as an actor! I am most pleased by the episodes so far. I have found nothing, as yet, that would make me not watch the rest of the mini-series.

It Moved Me
April 18, 2008
Sadly in high school I only half paid attention in history class. As I've aged since school I'm picking up on what I chose to miss out on. This series is simply amazing. It has become "must see tv" in my household. The cast is superb and the writing is top notch. The pride I have felt while viewing this at times has moved me to tears. I plan to buy the DVD and watch it with my son when he is a few years older and can comprehend the foundation this great country was built upon.

The BEST!
April 4, 2008
This should be mandatory viewing in high school!
Many graduate without feeling any connection to our
wonderful past and the extraordinary folks that forged this magnificent country. John Adams is, if not the best certainly is one of the best and well done movies of our illustrious past. Thank you and Kudos to all involved!

John Adams

If I had learned American history by watching stories like this when I was in middle school or high school, I'd have loved the course instead of hated and been bored to death by it.

I adored the book, so expected less
March 21, 2008
But this really is an amazing mini-series, and I can't wait for more. As David McCullough stated on the NewsHour on PBS, the writers really didn't shy away from the dense, wonderful language of the era and the result is an almost visercal sense of what it was like to live in the colonies in the 18th Century. Never have I been so proud of having ancestors who fought in the Revolution. Or of this country, for that matter. Not to be missed.
And oh yes, the cast is amazing.
