D'onofrio should be nominated for an EMMY.
April 19, 2007
After years of watching this show and Vincent's excellent performances season after season, I am bewildered at how he can be looked over when its time for EMMY nominations for Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
His ability to take the C.I. script and make Goren the mysteriously weird, but lovable detective is fascinating and he should certainly be recognized against other tv cops like Tony Shalhoub's Monk or Michael Chiklis' Vick Mackey.
As for the bright idea to add Chris Noth into the mix along with the other new female detective... BAD IDEA. Kathryn Erbe and Vincent's chemistry as the originals make this show worth watching. As an earlier review said: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Give Chris his own show. We all love him... just not in this role.
Oh yeah, NOMINATE VINCENT D'ONOFRIO AS BEST LEAD ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES please... EMMYs... please GOLDEN GLOBES... please SAG AWARDS... please PEOPLE'S CHOICE.

Goren and Eames RULE!
January 9, 2007
I think Chris Noth is a great actor, however, his character does not fit into this Law and Order format.
Logan historically deals with the evidence, so he seems completely out of his element when trying to deal with the psychology behind the crimes.
This is an aspect of criminal investigation that Bobby Goren "wrote the book on" and no one else can take his place! Detective Eames is the perfect partner!
Also, what happened to the "Order" part of this Law and Order?!
It would be great if Courtney Vance and Jamie Sheridan could be miraculously brought back but, in any case, there needs to be a representative from the court!
The show needs to go back to it's original format! Perferably with the original characters!

My heart sinks when D'Onofrio is not on!
February 28, 2007
The role of the intropective, emotional, intelligent, and not particulary sociable dectective Gorem, along with his ever clear headed partner Eames keeps me coming back for more and more. I think Noth is a fine acotor; but D'Onofrio owns CI: Criminal Intent and should be making LOTS and LOTS of episodes. Fan letters aren't my thing; but I'm begging whoever reads these to pass it on to somebody in charge that we need more D'Onfrio. He's my guy!

Donofrio and Erbe are the best
January 16, 2007
The original cast with Donofrio and Erbe are the best. Chris North and his partner lack the chemistry provided by Goren and his partner. The pair is so lackluster I don't even bother to watch their episodes.

Great Acting...
November 29, 2006
I love this show. Detective Goren is one of the wierdest characters on TV right now. He seems to know almost everything, which is annoying to other characters on the show, and to me as well, truth be told. That being said, his annoying little habits make the show interesting. The show pulls in some great guest actors and their interactions w/Goren are always interesting. The acting on the show is great, the best performances are always brought in by Goren, as portrayed by Vincent D'Onofrio. He alone deserves the five star rating.
