Episode Description
When a case involving a baby infected with AIDS is brought to the attention of Dr. Raye Massey, Detectives Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson are called in to investigate. The detectives seek the help of Dr. Melinda Warner, a member of an AIDS surveillance team along with Dr. Massey. Dr. Warner investigates the baby's medical case, but Detectives Stabler and Benson, upon further investigation, discover that the baby was prescribed vitamins by Dr. Gideon Hutton, who operates a "voodoo" medical practice. After the detectives look for more answers, similar cases of AIDS surface, including the death of Susan Ross' daughter. Susan's 18-year-old son Tommy also gets pulled into the case, forcing him to decide whether to take on his mother's belief in homeopathic medicine. Ultimately, Dr. Warner's medical research and testimony lead to Dr. Hutton's practices being called into question.
