Lost Left Behind

Episode Description

Kate is locked in The Others' rec room. Locke comes in to say goodbye, telling her he is leaving with them. Kate is watching The Others putting on gas masks and packing up when someone gasses her out. She wakes up in the jungle, handcuffed to Juliet, who says she was also gassed out and left behind. Juliet tells Kate that Jack saw her and Sawyer in the cage together and that is why he didn't want her to come back for him. The two of them see the smoke monster but are able to dodge it. When they see it for the second time, Juliet pulls out a key, unlocks their handcuffs, and activates the perimeter fence which keeps the smoke monster away from them. Juliet tells Kate that she handcuffed them together herself so that she wouldn't get left behind by someone else. They head back to The Others camp for Sayid and Jack. Apparently everyone else has disappeared. Kate apologizes to Jack for being the reason he didn't get to go home. Jack says that Juliet will come back to camp with them. In flashbacks, we see Kate trying to talk to her mother without the police knowing. She wants to know why her mother turned her in for killing a man who was abusing her mother. Kate gets some unexpected help from Cassidy, who we know is a woman who was conned by Sawyer. Meanwhile, on the island, Hugo tells a white lie to Sawyer that there is about to be a vote as to whether or not to ban him from camp. Sawyer begins doing good deeds for people and making amends. When he finds out that there is no vote, Hugo tells Sawyer that he lied to try and get Sawyer to start acting like a leader.
