An amiable, gray-haired actor with a nasal twang, Mason Adams is perhaps best known for his Emmy-nominated role as managing editor Charlie Hume on the long-running TV series "Lou Grant" (CBS, 1977-82). He began his career on radio in the 1940s, starring as the title character on the popular "Pepper Young's Family" from 1945-59.
