HOW TO RUIN A GREAT THING
June 23, 2008
We've been huge fans of NS since USA started airing it. My wife and I watched religiously and voted with enthusiasm for Buddy Jewel to win (and he did). But now that it's "gone network," I could take it or leave it. This is supposed to be a Country Music show. Will all the fantastic country songs out there, WHY in the world are they doing POP songs? To me it's ridiculous. Don't we already have enough outlets for Pop Music?
This is supposed to be OUR (country fans) show. Now it's nothing but a watered down, cheap immitation of American Idol. I wish it had stayed on the USA Network where it was fresh and innovative. A-I is a fine show, but we don't another one!
Come on, NBC...Keep the NASHVILLE in "Nashville Star."

What has happened?
July 16, 2008
I have always been a huge fan of Nashville Stars, but this year there just isn't the talent like there has been in years before. The judges are hard on the ones that might have a chance to maybe get a deal but the ones who suck they say good job ( way to step it up). In the past years there was always at least 4 people that were awesome but this year that is not the case. If some of them were this bad on TV just think of how bad some of them were during auditions.

Jewel comments regarding seizures insensitive
July 14, 2008
On tonight' show, Jewel compared someone rolling their eyes to having a seizure then exercised even worse judgement by attempting to imitate a seizure. My 11 year old daughter who suffers from epilepsy and deals with seizures on a weekly basis said it was mean and was very upset. As someone who has to witness this helplessly it was not only inappropriate but it made me very angry. Jewel you need to educate yourself because a seizure is a lot worse than someone rolling there eyes. Perhaps you need to apologize and find other ways to belittle 16 year old contestants who don't agree with your opinion of their talent level.

This is another stupid show
June 9, 2008
You just eliminated one of the best singers you had on this show. I can't understand how you think you can judge anyone when the people judging can't hear!

The biggest problem is
July 28, 2008
That the producers have removed most of the country music from the show. They mostly sing pop songs or songs that were never on the counrty charts. And the songs that were on the charts are mostly crossover songs. I didnt hear many sad country songs as I've heard in seasons past. Like Randy Owens from the band Alabama said last season. "You sang that song like you lived it, and thats the essense of country music". There is none of that this season. This season has no country soul and its all fluff. The only reason Im watching it is because I'm waiting for it to get good. But it hasnt. Too bad the USA network lost this show. NBC is killing it.
