Nashville Star TV Show - Nashville Star Television Show - Yahoo! TV

I suspect that I am considered "NEW" in regards to being a fan of Country Music. I've only been listening to it since the late 80's. This being said, I don't know how many people might agree with my opinion of the contestants & Judges on Nashville Star 2008.
I certainly hope viewers that were watching the shows to see what Country is all about don't think that what was broadcast was indicative of Country Music. If the contestants represent where Country is going......I think the Industry should be ready to "take a Mammoth HIT!"
In all, I didn't see much talent in ANY performances and the "judges" were laughable, at best. This is a shame....I adore Jewel as a performer but I don't think she is all that Country. This said, I'm sure that she recognizes talent....period. The others are inept and don't really represent what I consider Country Stars.
I guess I'd be interested to see if anyone agrees with me. Let's see........

every year have looked forward to the show. I haven't cared for this year's show from the beginning and even tho, the contestants improved
I won't watch it again. as to why, not sure, felt the contestants were poor choices from the start, hard to believe they were the best of 50.
after melissa's remark about not having to be skinny to be a star, I
suspected that was exactly what would happen. she didn't hold a candle to the other gal. wasn't even impressed with the judges, sorry, I
was sooo un-impressed and disappointed this year.

I agree with man o...... I found it totally rude that an adult woman can stew over the fact that a teenager" rolled her eyes", and then to have John Rich call this girl out on public television and embarrass her like that. In my opinion, you have to give respect to get respect. These judges behave as if they are the only ones that matter in Country music. I understand that they matter in this episode of Nashville Star, but I dont know how they consider Jewel a Country Singer and who is the blonde guy? and John Rich comes in and does well with save a horse, ride a coyboy and thinks he is all that. What a shame....

sorry hes not a country singer my pick for this year is Milissa shes great and i really admire her ,she really has talent and the kids and her husband really deserive this shes all country
