Great Natural History Documentaries
May 4, 2008
I teach courses in ecology, biogeography, and conservation at a large midwestern university. Nature is one of those guilty pleasures I look forward to each week. One of the most important features of the show is that they always seem to get the science right. Other nature shows often fall short in this regard. Nature often shows the scientists "doing" the science, and in the process bring the scientific method to life. I often find myself incorporating examples from the show into my classes when appropriate.
I have travelled extensively, but Nature manages to take me to many of the places I know that I'll never have time to visit.

Wonderful show

I just watched Martyn Colbeck with the story of Echo and the elephants and I was so intrigued I've never seen anything like it. It was beautiful and want to find his email to tell him what a fantastic job he did and heartwarming it was. I was filled with emotion during the show and urge anyone interested in wildlife and family to watch it.

NATURE

Nature on PBS gives me something to look forward to on television.
I am 68 and have lived in the city since 18. Nature is a grand escape. I wish to see more and more of such programming.

All of the Natures programs are some of the best on television. This one and Christmas in Yellowstone are amoung my very faviorites. Now that I have HDTV, channel 6 KIVE in Sacremento, California makes it vivid!

This was a great documentary. It must have taken the better part of the year to make this show from the Hot summer to I'm thinking winter with all yhe water where there was none before. Professionally narrated and filmed all the way. Thanks folks. Loved it.
