Talking to the young stars of “The Carrie Diaries” at New York Fashion Week is just so meta. How much would young Carrie Bradshaw wish to be in our shoes, or, at least, those of the actresses in her show?
When we caught up with Chloe Bridges at the double-duty party at Aeropostale in Times Square in honor of Chloe Moretz’s 16th birthday and the 10th anniversary of Teen Vogue magazine, she seemed to be appreciating the experience as much as we were, especially because she was able to dress for 2013.
“I like being able to wear my own clothes at the end of the day and not have my hair crimped and matted sometimes,” the sometimes Donna LaDonna confessed to Yahoo! TV. “But it’s also fun. What I love about being on the show is the ‘80s. When I go to work every morning, I feel like I’m getting into costume. It’s nice to be playing a character that doesn’t dress exactly like you because you get to have more fun with it.”
But the fun has its limits, as the 22-year-old actress couldn’t pinpoint a single outfit that really gave her the giggles – just Donna’s whole look.
“Sometimes Donna looks like a Charlotte Russe just exploded on her. She just wears like the whole store all at once,” she laughed. “She’ll wear a multi-colored striped shirt with leopard pants – the whole thing.”
More crazy outfits aren’t the only things in store for the show’s reigning queen bee. Apparently she’s about to get a big dose of love and kindness.
“I think you’re going to get to see a different side to Donna. She becomes nicer and she has an active dating life – that’s always entertaining,” she teased. “Oh, yeah. There definitely will be romance! Don’t worry about that!”
Carrie would be so proud.
