'America's Got Talent' names a fourth judge: Heidi Klum

Supermodel Heidi Klum is temporarily trading the runway for the stage as the newest addition to the "America's Got Talent" Season 8 judging panel. She'll be replacing Sharon Osbourne, who quit the reality show after accusing NBC of discriminating against her son, Jack, as a "Stars Earn Stripes" contestant, because he has multiple sclerosis. Klum will join current judges Howie Mandel and Howard Stern, and new judge Mel B. (aka, Scary Spice).

The German bombshell, and savvy business owner and entrepreneur, is no stranger to judging talented (and not-so-talented) reality show hopefuls; Klum is the host and executive producer of -- and a judge on -- the eight-time-Emmy-nominated "Project Runway." But this former Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition model is ready to take her judging skills outside the garment district and into the eclectic world of NBC's almost-anything-goes talent competition.

"America's got some serious talent! I'm really excited to join the panel of 'AGT' to see it all -- from the ridiculous to the fantastic!" Klum said. "I love the surprise element of the show and not knowing what we'll see next and who will wow us. I'm also looking forward to spending time with my fellow judges."

"America's Got Talent" Season 8 is set to premiere in May 2013.
