'Hatfields & McCoys' pilot adds Rebecca De Mornay, Sophia Bush

Fight! Fight! Fight! The never-ending feud between the "Hatfields & McCoys" will continue in a new NBC pilot produced by Charlize Theron.

The show takes place in present-day Pittsburgh, with the blue-collar McCoys going to war with the wealthy Hatfields after a shocking death reignites their decades-long enmity. Big names are starting to flock to the project -- check out the feud's key participants:

    • "Risky Business" and "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle" star Rebecca De Mornay is Mary Hatfield, the city's mayor. This marks De Mornay's first television project since HBO's "John From Cincinnati."
    • Virginia Madsen ("Sideways," "Hell on Wheels") will play the other matriarch, Eloise McCoy.
    • Sophia Bush, fresh off the canceled CBS sitcom "Partners," is doctor Emma McCoy, the oldest of the siblings.
    • Newcomer Nick Westrate is Mary's ne'er-do-well son, Randall Hatfield.
    • "The Mob Doctor" star Jesse Lee Soffer plays older McCoy son Patrick.
    • The baby of the McCoy family, Jack, is bent on avenging that game-changing death. He'll be played by Patrick Flueger ("The 4400").

The high-profile pilot comes on the heels of last year's blockbuster History Channel miniseries, "Hatfields & McCoys," which drew 14 million viewers and racked up 16 Emmy nominations. Executive producer and star Kevin Costner won the lead actor trophy for playing the Hatfield patriarch.

Still in the ratings basement, NBC no doubt hopes that some of that magic transfers to its modern-day retelling of the story.
