Gator season's almost over on History's reality hit "Swamp People" -- but that doesn't mean the alligators are giving up without a fight.
In this exclusive sneak peek at Thursday's season finale, gator hunter Troy (aka the King of the Swamp) and his sharpshooting sidekick, Clint, are trying to land one more big score before season's end. They come up on a gator trap and feel something heavy on the other end: "This is the best feeling in the world, if you're an alligator hunter," Troy says in that distinctive Cajun drawl of his.
But this particular gator isn't interested in being anyone's prize; it thrashes wildly when the men try to haul it in ("He's a hand burner, brother!"). Troy tries to hold the alligator still long enough for Clint to line up a fatal shot -- but the clip ends before we learn the gator's fate. Guess we'll have to tune in to see if the King of the Swamp manages to hold onto his crown.
The season finale of "Swamp People" airs Thursday, 7/12 at 9 PM on History.
