Back when Katie Stevens competed on American Idol, Simon Cowell told the teen hopeful she had a future in country music. This week, the Season 9 alum put her original stamp on Taylor Swift's break-up anthem, "We are Never Ever Getting Back Together."
The 19-year old Connecticut native slowed down the melody, adding lush vocals to a sparse piano arrangement that gave the song a sadder, more mature feel.
The video, directed by Charlie Buhler, features meloncholy seens of Stevens and her "pretend" soon-to-be-ex boyfriend.
Stevens, who also cut covers of Whitney Houston and the David Guetta/Sia hit, "Titanium," promises "more videos to come."
