Is the ‘American Idol’ judges’ table big enough for Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey?

Talk about a double dose of diva!

On the heels of the announcement that Mariah Carey has been signed on as an "American Idol" judge comes a report that Nicki Minaj is now confirmed to be a judge on the upcoming season of the show.

A source for Us Weekly reported that the 29-year-old rapper has "a few more slight things to sign off on," but verified that "it is happening." Another source said that the rapper is "100 percent confirmed" for a judges' spot on the show.

If it's true, it won't be the first time "Idol" had two females at the judges' table at once. In past seasons, the panel included Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi (Season 8), as well as the team of Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres (Season 9).

But it will be the first time that two divas will potentially share the table. Which begs the question: Is there enough room at the "American Idol" judges table for Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey?

Mariah Carey is notorious for her diva-like behavior. In addition to boasting a bloated entourage, past stunts have included having two people lower her down onto a morning show couch so she wouldn't crush her dress and bringing her own roll of toilet paper to an interview taping.

According to the New York Post, in addition to her $18 million "Idol" salary, Carey could have some demands when it comes to her backstage riders. In the past she has requested items such as baskets of puppies, furniture with "no busy patterns," vases of white roses, a chauffeur for her dog, and confetti "shaped like butterflies." No word yet on any "Idol" special requests, but it certainly points to the potential for some diva-like demands.

Nicki Minaj's diva demands were listed in the February/March issue of Wonderland. Her tour rider detailed requests such as "24 bottles of Dasani water" (12 at room temperature and 12 on ice), a bevy of beverages, a fruit and a cheese platter, a deli tray, three packs of gum, veggies, Bumble Bee tuna in water, low-fat crackers, two dozen pink or white roses, candles with the scent of baked goods, Halls Mentho-Lyptus cough drops, two space heaters, and a cool-mist humidifier.

In recent months, Minaj has turned off many people with her diva-like behavior, first with a Twitter war with her fans and most recently with a series of nasty rants regarding the cancellation of her V Festival performance. Then there was her bizarre Grammy performance earlier this year, which included an exorcism of her alter ego, Roman Zolanski, that included fire, levitation, and sacrilegious symbols.

Meanwhile, in true diva form, TMZ reported that 42-year-old Carey hung up the phone on producers when she was told that Minaj was the top candidate for the remaining "American Idol" judges' spot.

As for who Carey would like to see next to her at the judges' table, look no further than Twitter, where she recently tweeted: "@AmericanIdol What's going on? need the info!! What about this combo? : ) if we could ever get him to do it!" That post was accompanied by a pic of her and pal Lenny Kravitz.

"American Idol" Season 12 premieres January 18 on FOX.
