'Arrested Reunion' Is Evolving, Says Creator

When Mitch Hurwitz first announced the two-pronged Arrested Development reunion (first a 10-episode fourth season and then a feature film), he said that the weekly installments would each focus on one character. But at yesterday's Netflix-sponsored National Association of Broadcasters in Las Vegas (which served as an unofficial reunion for the cast), Mitch revealed that this is no longer the plan.

"That is now kind of evolving into becoming more like the old show again," Hurwitz said from the stage, explaining that the ten episode fourth season (which will premiere on a single day, as opposed to a staggered release) will function, in some ways, as a single narrative.

"There's going to be some mystery sprinkled throughout this [but] instead of watching one a week and try to get ahead of it, the hope is [fans] will watch them all together and then go back and look for clues and connections," Hurwitz added, "we'd also like to use the technology to provide additional material, where you might be able to access another part of the story."

Interestingly, there was no talk of the feature film (which at this point is still in the works) as the crew is more focused on crafting the ten episodes, which might lead to more! "We would love this to be the first of many visits," Hurwitz said, implying that more seasons might be in the offing.

The creator also revealed that the fourth season of Arrested Development would include the return of Bob Loblaw ... sadly there was no mention of Bob Loblaw's Law Blog however.

Arrested Development's fourth season is expected to debut on Netflix in 2013.
