‘Bachelor Pad’s’ Jaclyn Swartz on Ed Swiderski and Reid Rosenthal

Did Ed Make Those Noises and was Reid a Backstabber?

One of the things that makes watching "Bachelor Pad" the most interesting is the fact that many of the players have existing relationships before coming on the show. Some competed for the same girl's hand, some bonded after their season at various "Bachelor" events, and others just know the stories of their fellow contestants from watching the franchise themselves.

And so when friends like Jaclyn Swartz and Ed Swiderski hook up or an alleged buddy like Reid Rosenthal stabs Swiderski in the back, it becomes that much more fascinating due to the history. In a recent conference call interview contestant Swartz commented on her relationship with Swiderski and Rosenthal's master plan for redemption.

Jaclyn Swartz pairs up with Ed Swiderski

On the season opener couples paired up immediately for the first challenge and Swartz wound up partnering with Ed Swiderski who won Jillian Harris' heart on Season 5 of "The Bachelorette." But for someone who appeared to have his act together with Harris, fans are seeing a different party-loving side of Swiderski at the "Bachelor Pad."

Swartz described how she got paired up with Swiderski. "It was clearly a default partnership. We were having fun and not really thinking about the next day's challenge and then it ended up being the two of us brought together… But as the weeks went on, we just clicked. Our personalities just work really well together."

Jaclyn Swartz says the noises may have been real

The blonde from Ben Flajnik's season of "The Bachelor" admittedly came on the show in pursuit of the prize money and had no intention of finding true love. Of course that didn't stop her from hooking up with her partner for some laughs. And while she holds firm that she and Swiderski are just "best friends," their night of passion has been one of the most memorable moments so far. For those who did not see it, suffice it to say Swiderski was very vocal.

She commented, "Ed's noises are pretty epic… I don't recall hearing those that night, but as you could see, neither of us maybe would have remembered that." She coyly added, "Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't. But honestly, I saw that, and I could not stop laughing."

Jaclyn Swartz was concerned about Swiderski's relationship with Sarah Newton

And while Swartz claims to have no romantic feelings for her partner, she admitted it did bother her when Ed apparently hooked up with another competitor, Sarah Newton. She said the most difficult part about it was the strategy because in the game you never know who will be your partner in the end. She noted, "If you're thinking long term, you want your partner to be someone who you want to go on dates with. So, if you're partner is hooking up with somebody else, you're not going to want to take them on a date if you win. And that's a problem."

Reid Rosenthal was out for redemption

But Sarah was not her only concern when it came to her partner. Someone else in the house was out to get Swiderski from the get go and plotted an evil plan to vote him off. Reid Rosenthal apparently has never let go of the fact that Swiderski beat him out for the final rose on Harris' season, and he saw this competition as his time for redemption. Sadly for Swiderski, he considered Rosenthal a good friend and was shocked to learn of his buddy's exploits.

Swartz explained, "I was really upset by Reid and his actions, and his decisions, and the way that he was playing the game." To many viewers Rosenthal's biggest mistake was approaching Swartz on the night of the elimination and telling her that if Swiderski were sent home, he would be her new teammate. Swartz immediately went and told her partner, and Rosenthal's plan was ultimately thwarted.

Swartz said it was how he went about it that got to her. "It was very sneaky. And when you think that someone is working with you and really, they're working against you, its pretty hurtful regardless of the fact that it's a game."

Watch "Bachelor Pad" on Monday nights at 8PM EST/7PM CST on ABC.
