"Breaking Bad" is best known as the show that made Bryan Cranston a star, and scored Emmy nominations for both him and co-star Aaron Paul. But while these two men (and the rest of the main cast) have all given exemplary performances, it is some of the minor characters that we are most excited to see each week. From infrequent guest stars to recurring (if minor) characters, here are some of our favorite background characters on "Breaking Bad."
1. Steven Gomez
How can you not love a guy called "Gomie"? He's funny, smarter than Hank, and darn good at his job. We'd love to see this capable DEA agent get more screen time. If Hank ever gets back on his feet, he'd better have Gomie by his side, or it just won't feel right.
2. Donald Margolis
John de Lancie gave a stirring performance as Jane's dad, and the way he coped with her addiction and eventual overdose was heartbreaking. After the plane crash, it was revealed on a radio broadcast that he was sent to the emergency room due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Here's hoping that they were able to save his life at the hospital so we can see more of this tortured man's life unfold in future seasons of "Breaking Bad."
3. Gale
Oh Gale. You left us all too soon. We know you won't be back anytime soon, but we hold out for more flashbacks or funny home movies so we can get just a couple more minutes of screen time from you.
4. Huell
You might not recognize the name, but you'd know him if you saw him. He's Saul's security guard, and played by real-life funny man Lavell Crawford. Lavell's a good comedian, and it would be interesting to see his role fleshed out more (no pun intended.)
5. Wendy
There's so much darkness in Wendy, and yet she is also strong and mysterious. She's a character we don't need any backstory from, and yet it might be interested to understand what brought her to try meth for the first time.
6. Jake Pinkman
The last time we saw Jake Pinkman (Jesse's little brother who still lives at home with his parents), he framed Jesse for a joint found in the family home. Jake's clearly got the beginnings of a drug problem, and also has some serious inadequacy issues. It would be interesting to see Jake come back, and see whether he is becoming more like Jesse.
