'Bethenny Ever After' Recap: Is Jason Jealous of Bethenny's Success?

This season of "Bethenny Ever After" has been fraught with drama and disturbing scenes of marital discord between Bethenny and Jason. What makes the drama more disturbing is that many arguments occur with Bryn, Bethenny's daughter, within range of the conflict. Is there any positive message audiences can take away from this season so far?

Great Success Puts Great Stress on the Marriage: Bethenny said it best in last week's episode: No matter where you are, you're still yourself. Even though the couple had taken a luxurious vacation to Mexico, it seems like they spent most of their time fighting. Despite the incessant fighting about who trusts who, the couple does manage to put aside their bickering to have some good times. For an hour, Jason and Bethenny take a music therapy class where the two have drinks and joke about the shape of the shakers. These moments remind the audience what brought the feuding lovebirds together.

Is Jason threatened by Bethenny's Success? Bethenny is now worth reportedly 25 million dollars as a result of her selling her Skinnygirl Cocktail brand to Jim Beam. In addition to the Skinnygirl cocktails, the hip brand now also includes an overwhelming amount of health and nutrition products. With so much success, shouldn't the couple be sitting back, taking it easy, and simply enjoying the ride? If only it was that easy. In this week's episode Jason admits that although he is trying to be happy for Bethenny and all of her success, he finds himself resenting her. Jason hasn't found his own path and his own passion, so it must be hard to watch someone going so full speed ahead on her own.

Julie is Leaving: Julie, the official Coordinator of Chaos in the Skinnygirl office, is leaving New York to be closer to her boyfriend. Although Bethenny says that she wants Julie to be happy, it is clear that there is some reticence and sadness. For someone as driven as Bethenny, it may be tough to see someone she values leaving an up-and-coming career to be closer to her man.

Veronica Says She'll Take Bryn: In an emotional and tear-filled scene Bethenny asks Veronica, Bryn's nanny, if she would take the toddler if anything happened to her and Jason. Veronica, also known as RaRa, agrees.

Jason Drops a Bomb: Jason reveals in front of the entire team that they have to be out of their old apartment in 30 days. Why he chooses to reveal the stressful news in front of the everyone is a puzzle, especially since he knows that Bethenny will have a heart attack - which she does. She warns her team that things are about to get intense - as if she wasn't intense enough! The warning must have gotten to Maggie, the wide-eyed assistant, because the next day she had a little break down.

"Bethenny Ever After" has offered audiences a little more darkness than light this season, but there is still a glimmer of hope for the couple. Should Jason join the Skinnygirl business, or should he go out and find his own success?
