After being shunned by Bernadette when it came to shopping for wedding and bridesmaid dresses, all Amy Farrah Fowler wanted was a little one on one time with Sheldon Cooper. Sheldon doesn't believe the relationship will work if intimacy of any sort is involved. Amy wants to change all that. More and more, she sets Sheldon up in awkward situations. Could the next situation turn out to be more than cuddling? Should Amy and Sheldon get a little physical?
The entire premise of Amy and Sheldon's relationship is to simply hang out and let their parents be happy they are technically together. They're both geniuses and are fine with the other's scientific lingo and odd behaviors. They go out to dinner, hang out with mutual friends, tease each other and even have the occasional fight. The only thing they don't do is anything requiring physical contact. Even many of their conversations are via computer versus face to face.
Their odd relationship has added much to "The Big Bang Theory." Fans watch every week to see what will happen next. Would things change if the two were to take their relationship to the next level? Would they become just another couple if they were to start hugging, kissing or gasp - even more? While a part in all of us would love to see just how Sheldon would react, the other part is afraid our happy, fun Amy and Sheldon partnership wouldn't be able to last.

They are more a couple of convenience who puts friendship and their own lives above the physical. It's fun, but Amy may be starting to get a little impatient as she becomes more of a girl than a scientist.
