The latest episode of "The Big Bang Theory" is proof that even the best of friends can wage an ugly war over a petty incident. In this case, the fact that Sheldon lost a parking space that he doesn't need turned into a war within the gang. Even though there was very little of Leonard, Penny, and Raj, this episode still turned out to be one of the funniest so far this season. Here is a recap of the latest episode, "The Parking Spot Escalation."
Sheldon's parking space battle
Howard arrives at work to tell the guys that he picked up his new car, but things take a turn for the worse when Sheldon finds out that Howard is parking in his designated space. Even though Sheldon doesn't drive, he's furious that the university gave away his parking spot. Like his spot on the couch, Sheldon views it as the perfect parking place. Of course, Howard refuses to move the car, and a major feud ensues.Sheldon calls the university president, who tells him that Howard has earned that spot due to his achievement as an astronaut. Since he can't get help there, Sheldon chooses another course of action. He steals Howard's collectable Iron Man helmet and refuses to return it since they are living under new rules. Howard retaliates by sitting naked in Sheldon's spot on the couch. Sheldon's next plan is to spray paint his name on the parking space, then have Amy leave her car there. When that doesn't work, he sets up his office in the space.
After Sheldon refuses to leave, Howard attempts to run him over. Leonard points out that they're both acting ridiculous, but Howard thinks that Sheldon is jealous of his accomplishments. In one last stab at revenge, Sheldon strips down and sits in Howard's brand new car. Howard eventually agrees to give up the space, but Sheldon is angry because the gesture makes Howard appear to be the bigger man. Sheldon decides to let Howard use the space after all, but only if he admits that Sheldon is the bigger man.
The girls get involved in the fight
Not surprisingly, the parking space feud carried over to the women in Howard and Sheldon's life. Bernadette brags that Howard is a very big deal, while Amy mentions that Sheldon is still much smarter. Things escalate when Bernadette says that going to space was a bigger deal than all of Sheldon's unproven theories. Before long, the two are arguing over the differences in their sex lives. Bernadette storms out, leaving Penny to feel awkwardly caught in the middle. Later, Penny is over at Bernadette's house when Amy shows up. She's angry because Bernadette had Amy's car towed out of the parking space. As the two ladies resume their bickering, Penny is accidentally whacked in the face with Amy's purse, which happens to be filled with a number of hard objects. The fight continues, but the ladies make peace after learning that Sheldon and Howard have buried the hatchet. They say they're glad that the whole thing happened since it made them closer, but Penny is clearly upset that her face is covered with bruises.
