With the exception of Danny and Linda Reagan on the series "Blue Bloods," all the other characters are unattached romantically. They do not talk much about it but Grandpa Reagan is obviously a widower. His son Frank is also a widower. Erin is divorced, and the youngest son Jamie has never been married. Every once in a while one of them goes on a date. They all seem to have terrible track records with love. Are they ever going to give the characters some decent love interests?
Grandpa Reagan - Since the show started we have never seen him with any prospective love interests. Finally, this season we see Grandpa out of the house. He has been working with his charities and even went to check out a job offer. Just because he is older does not mean he cannot have a lady friend in his life. It would be gratifying to see him enjoying his twilight years with someone, not just lurking around the house.
Frank Reagan - The first two seasons of "Blue Bloods" we saw Frank having some romantic involvement with a television reporter. Thankfully this did not last long, it just did not have the makings of a great romance. Even though he has a high profile job, Frank needs another shot at love. Maybe dating would loosen him up some and give him a reason to smile. It would not be professional, but his assistant Baker would be an intriguing match. Maybe they could bring back Patricia Kalember, the doctor who treated Grandpa when he had his heart attack. She is lovely, intelligent and the appropriate age for Frank.
Erin Reagan-Boyle - Being divorced, the mother of a teenage daughter and having a full-time job as an assistant district attorney surely causes dating dilemmas. Out of all the characters on "Blue Bloods," poor Erin seems to have the worst luck with dating. For about a minute viewers thought she would start dating her boss. He has been M.I.A for quite some time. More recently she caught the eye of an art curator who later turns out to be a suspected art thief. Then when she decides to give him the benefit of the doubt, she finds out he has fled the country. Hopefully her luck will turn around soon.
Jamie Reagan - Jamie has already amassed a pretty bad record in love. He was engaged to a girl named Sydney. Their relationship was brief; they ended it when Sydney took a job in London. More recently Jamie has been showing interest in the daughter of a mob family. You can see that getting involved with Bianca is a horrible idea from two countries away. Not only is he undercover but her family is a crime syndicate. Maybe by the end of the season, one of these characters will get a lasting love interest. Preferably one that is not a criminal, a member of a crime family, or one that runs away at the drop of a hat.
