    'Breaking Bad' Ratings Hit Series High With Season Premiere

    "Breaking Bad" returned for a fifth season on Sunday and hit a series record for the show, drawing 2.9 million total viewers.

    In addition to making Sunday's premiere the most-watched episode in the AMC show's history, that also represents a 14 percent jump in total viewers over the show's Season 4 premiere.

    In the 18-49 demographic most important to advertisers, the growth was even more dramatic, with the "Breaking Bad" premiere drawing 1.9 million viewers, a 34 percent jump over last season's premiere.

    Overall, between the 10 p.m. premiere and an 11:30 re-airing, the "Breaking Bad" premiere drew 3.5 million viewers.

    Sunday's premiere also enjoyed a considerable boost over last October's Season 4 finale, which drew 1.9 million total viewers.
