Bree sure has had quite a few low points in her life, but now it seems that she has truly hit rock bottom on the ABC drama "Desperate Housewives." The red-haired, gun-toting, quiche-baking beauty has buried a few husbands, faced her own bouts with alcoholism, coped with her teenage daughter getting pregnant, helped her son through stints of male prostitution, drug abuse and coming out of the closet, and so much more. It seems, though, as if life has finally dealt her one too many blows.
Not too long ago, everything seemed to be hunky dory for Bree. She was hosting a group dinner party with her friends and neighbors on Wisteria Lane when things really turned upside down for her. Her friend, Gaby faced an intruder in her home, her stepfather who had a history of abusing her and was now out to torment her once again. Gaby's husband, Carlos walked in on the scene and saved the day by hitting the intruder over the head with a candlestick, unintentionally killing him. Now, Bree finds herself as an accessory for murder along with Gaby and two other friends from the Lane.
At the time, she was dating Det. Chuck Vance, but paranoia got the better of Bree. She thought Vance was getting too close to uncovering the truth and broke off the relationship. In the process, she broke his heart and made an enemy for life. Of course, the missing person's case for Gaby's stepfather came across this particular police detective's desk. Vance, recalling seeing this man on Wisteria Lane around the time of his disappearance, has taken it on himself to torment the ladies.
Vance knew that the best way to hurt Bree was to target her friends; little did he know that he would actually uncover the truth of the murder while using this missing person as a reason for tormenting them. The ladies now blame Bree for Vance's interest in them, as well as for lying to them about how close he was coming to uncovering the truth. Now it seems that Bree has lost her man, her friends, her sobriety, and now is even coming close to losing her life.
Vance got run over by a car in the latest episode, which consequently also featured Bree pondering suicide. Bree is, of course, far too strong-minded to kill herself, and she knows deep down she will persevere as always. Of course, the question is if Bree was pondering suicide because she ran over her almost-fiance with a car, or if her time spent staring at her gun was because of all of the other drama in her life right now.
