Cartoon Network's 'Tom and Jerry' Bring Their Adventures Home

One classic cartoon duo that continues to thrill children is Tom and Jerry. Not only have they just appeared in their own straight-to-DVD movie, " Tom and Jerry and The Wizard of Oz ," but there are plans for a theatrical feature that will tell the origin of the characters. "Tom and Jerry" still airs every day on the Cartoon Network as well. There seems to be no end to their popularity. Warner Brothers has shown this to be true again by releasing " Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures Volume 3 ."

Who doesn't like watching house cat Tom chase the lovable rodent Jerry through all sorts of misadventures all over the world? Even Spike the bulldog shows up to get involved in the good times. "Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures Vol. 3" is the perfect mix of newer and older animated shorts from the troublemaking twosome.

"Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures Volume 3" compiles 14 of the mischievous pair's exploits as they go on a camping trip, travel to Alaska, and visit a haunted house. They even join forces to battle a beach bully. The zaniness never ends where this cat and mouse couple is concerned.

This collection features classic cartoons from the 1960s, which were from the Chuck Jones era of the series. There are also ones from the 2006 show, " Tom and Jerry Tales ," which were produced by Warner Brothers. They had the same style and feel of the classic cartoons with the violence intact as well. Don't let that distract you from the fun you can find here.

There's something for both adults and children within "Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures Vol. 3." These cartoon shorts are perfect entertainment for the family to enjoy together over and over again. They are a reminder of a more innocent time before Saturday mornings were flooded with the latest version of "Pokémon," "Yu-Gi-Oh," and " Beyblade ."

If you're tired of having to wait to watch "Tom and Jerry" until it comes on every day on Cartoon Network, then "Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures Vol. 3" was made for you. This was only released as a regular format DVD, it's not available on Blu-ray yet. Unfortunately, we also don't get any special features with this release either. It would be nice to see a featurette on how they made these cartoons, or even a documentary on the influence it's had on modern cartoons. Maybe we'll get that someday if they release these on Blu-ray in a special collector's edition or something.
