    CBS Pulls 'The Job' From Schedule After 2 Episodes

    CBS is quitting The Job.

    The midseason reality competition, which counted Mark Burnett among its executive producers, has been pulled from the schedule after just two episodes. Undercover Boss will return to the 8 p.m. Friday time slot effective immediately.

    It was a brief, uphill battle for The Job. The Lisa Ling-hosted series opened to a weak 4.1 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in the adults 18-49 demo on Feb. 8. In its second outing, Fast National ratings gave The Job just 3.4 million viewers and a 0.7 rating in the key demo.

    With the exceptions of steady CSI: NY and Blue Bloods, Fridays have been tricky for CBS this season. Freshman drama Made In Jersey was ousted from the 9 p.m. slot after just two episodes this past fall -- both of which outperformed The Job.

    From Embassy Row, Sony Pictures Television and Mark Burnett Productions, The Job followed different groups of contestants vying for a chance to nab "a dream job at their dream company." Michael Davies and James Sunderland joined Burnett as executive producers.

    It's not clear whether the six remaining episodes of The Job will air.
