Week 6 of "Dancing with the Stars" was Broadway week. Fans were treated to fun dances with music from some of Broadway's greatest shows. This was also the week for the first group dance. It went rather well, especially since some of the dancers are better than the others. Two of the couples stood out with a fantastic performance and earned themselves two 10s each: Derek/Ricki and JR/Karina. It seems that these are the couples to beat this season. There were some pretty intense moments with the judges' comments. Maks was extremely irritated with Len's comments and gave him some very rude backtalk. Maks also made a rather bold statement about how "Dancing with the Stars" was his show. He crossed major lines with that comment. Bruno hurt Chaz's feelings when he made some over the top remarks about him being a penguin as well as some other comments. There were seven couples who danced, but only six will be coming back for Week 7.
The couples who landed themselves in the bottom were not really a surprise. Nancy Grace made it through to Week 7 straight away. The couples who landed themselves in the red zone were Hope/Maks and Chaz/Lacey. After the poor sportsmanship Maks showed when getting the judges' feedback, it was not surprising to see him in the bottom. While these couples were in danger of going home, Chaz/Lacey got the boot. It was sad to see them go, but making it this far in the competition is an accomplishment in itself. Chaz proved himself to America and showed people that just because someone is different doesn't make them wrong.
Week 7 is the "Halloween Special," and it should bring lots of fun along with it. There was a preview of what to expect, and it looked like it will be entertaining. With Derek/Ricki and JR/Karina being so competitive, each week is more and more fun to watch. These two couples will no doubt be in the finals, but it is anyone's guess who will join them in making the final four. Right now, Cheryl/Rob and David/Kym have been improving from week to week. This will keep them in the competition, possibly through the finals. Whatever happens during Week 7, you can bet on it being entertaining and fun. From this point on, the competition is going to be brutal. They all want that mirror ball trophy, but who has the guts to go all the way and snag it?
