"Pretty Little Liars" is becoming darker and creepier with every episode. Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) has started to uncover the files from "A's" phone, and so far, Jenna (Tammin Sursok), Garrett (Yani Gellman) and Ian (Ryan Merriman) are the most prominent people in the video footage. We know Jason (Drew Van Acker) was in the house at the time of Ali's (Sasha Pieterse) death, but the tape revealed that he was passed out. The question is, which one of these suspects struck the blow that allowed them to bury Ali alive? Here is a breakdown of the suspects, and their personalities.
Garrett Reynolds
Garrett Reynolds might just be the equivalent of a village idiot. Although he is smart, because he is a police officer, he seems to be led by his heart, not his head. He fell in love with Jenna, and once Jenna takes control, she seems to have the power to make people do whatever she wants them to do. He was a member of the N.A.T club with Jason and Ian, so he isn't totally innocent. However, it seems hard to believe that someone who is so soft underneath would be capable of murder.
Chances of Garrett being the murderer: 6 out of 10. The only way he would ever have hit someone with intent to kill is if he was under pressure.
Ian Thomas
Ian was the big suspect for a long time, but someone faked his suicide and confessed that he was the killer. This probably rules him out, but he certainly had a very strong involvement in the lead up to Ali's death. He had kissed her, and filmed it, and if the tape got to the police, he would have been considered the last person to see her alive. Now we know that after he left Ali, he went to her room with Garrett and Jenna, and was snooping through her things.
Chances of Ian being the murderer: 2 out of 10. If someone went to so much trouble to frame him, he probably didn't do it. Even if he did, he has already taken his punishment.
Jenna Marshall
Jenna Marshall is a slightly terrifying young lady. Alison caused her to go blind, and since then, Jenna was desperate to get revenge. It's understandable that she would want Ali to pay for what she did, but going to such extreme lengths seems insane. However, Jenna is manipulative and focused, and if anyone could pull it off, she could. One might think that her blindness might make it difficult for her to accurately take a swipe at Alison, but we have seen that she is very capable and very aware of what and who is around her.
Chances of Jenna being the murderer: 7 out of 10. She certainly had enough anger and motive to do it, but on the other hand, she is the kind of person who would get a kick out of getting someone else to do her dirty work.
What about other possibilities?
After all this time, it still wouldn't be surprising if Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto) was the killer. She had the motive, and the temper. If there was an outside bet, she is it!
