Adam Devine's Comedy Central portfolio is set to expand.
Come fall, the co-star of the network's hit comedy Workaholics will add a stand-up series, titled Adam Devine's House Party, to his resume. Comedy Central has ordered eight episodes of the show, which is being billed as a mix of stand-up and narrative sketches featuring 24 of Devine's favorite up-and-coming comedians. The move is part of a continued push for the Viacom-owned net to bulk up on originals.

“It's hard to imagine what could go wrong by giving Adam so much money and turning him loose in a mansion to throw a house party, but we are sure to find out,” Comedy Central's original programming president Kent Alterman quipped in a statement announcing the news Thursday.
Added Devine: “I don't know how I convinced Comedy Central to give me another show, a Hollywood mansion and a paycheck for hanging out with my friends. I hope they have a good lawyer and the fire department on speed dial.”
House Party, which each week will feature three comedians doing stand-up in the backyard of Devine's mansion, will be produced by Avalon Television (Workaholics, Rove: LA, John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show). Devine, Avalon’s Jon Thoday, Richard Allen-Turner, David Martin, Isaac Horne and fellow Workaholic Kyle Newacheck will serve as executive producers, with Newacheck on board to direct as well. It will join such series as The Jeselnik Offensive, Tosh.0 and Kroll Show on Comedy Central's schedule.
To date, Devine is best known for his role as Adam DeMamp on Workaholics, which co-stars fellow members of his touring sketch-comedy group, Mail Order Comedy. All four --Devine, Newacheck, Blake Anderson and Anders Holm-- not only write, produce and star in the Comedy Central series but also headline sold-out shows around the country.
Devine, whose other credits include a starring role in Universal feature Pitch Perfect and an upcoming gig on Arrested Development, is repped by WME, Avalon and Morris Yorn.
