'Dancing With the Stars' Premiere: Who Had the Highest (and Lowest) Scores?

Dancing With the Stars kicked off its 16th season Monday night with a dozen new dancing hopefuls.

    [Warning: Spoiler alert!]

The 12 pairs -- who performed the cha-cha, foxtrot or a contemporary dance -- got off to mostly a so-so start, with Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman and Valentin Chmerkovskiy scoring the highest (24 out of a possible total of 30 points from the judges). Incidentally, Coleman is the youngest DWTS competitor ever at age 16.

Coming in at the bottom of the pack were comedian D.L. Hughley and Cheryl Burke, with a total of 12 points.

So how did recently engaged The Bachelor star Sean Lowe do? He came in at the middle of the pack with 19 points.

"For a dance virgin, you have a very effective pelvic thrust," judge Len Goodman told Lowe of his foxtrot with professional partner Peta Murgatroyd. "It was like the Chippendales version of a ballroom dancer. It needs refinement and finesse."

Meanwhile, fellow judge Carrie Ann Inaba added that she thinks Lowe will go far in the competition.

"You have a fearless exuberance," she said, adding: "I bet you're gonna go far because of the way you attack it."
