Lisa Vanderpump gets Giggy with it"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Lisa Vanderpump told TV Guide she's not exactly in her comfort zone on the dance floor, but she's hoping to get increasingly used to "the steps, the counting, the posture, the choreography -- and doing them all at the same time" as the show goes on. But at least she'll have a little help from her friends in the voting department. She dished that pals Brandi Glanville and Kyle Richards have already offered their support, and her Pomeranian Giggy will likely make a cameo in the "DWTS" audience.
Andy Dick's ballroom breakdownComedian Andy Dick recently told ET Online he had a "breakdown" during "DWTS" rehearsals with pro partner Sharna Burgess. "I just hit a wall," he said. "I cried forever. You're supposed to cry in Episode 4 or 5." The comedian revealed that he and Burgess went to lunch to work through their woes. "It was better than therapy. [Sharna] is my new therapist," he said, adding that before his well-publicized sobriety, he would have "hit the bottle" in times like this. "This is better than rehab. This is like 13 rehabs condensed into one," he said. Watch Andy discuss his "DWTS" breakdown here.
Kellie Pickler's strip "tease"The country singer is ready to bring out her sexy side. In an interview with "Access Hollywood," Kellie Pickler said her first "DWTS" outfit will cover "the areas that need to be covered." (Fans who've seen this show's skimpy outfits know that leaves a lot of room for little fabric!) Pickler also joked that she's not above taking it all off for votes. "Well, it's all about ratings," she said. "We're doing the naked cha-cha!"
Sean Lowe's shirtless strategy"The Bachelor" star Sean Lowe already has abs to die for and a trademark dance with pro partner Peta Murgatroyd (it's called the Murgalowe), and he says he's definitely up for the "DWTS" challenge. Sean told TV Guide the competitive side of him expects to win, while Peta says her Twitter "has been blowing up" with people asking him to take his shirt off for every dance.
"He has to be in a suit for the foxtrot [for the premiere], but I will work them in," Peta promises. "The paso's a good one for shirtlessness."
Wynonna Judd's rigid regimenFor six seasons she's been asked to participate on "Dancing With the Stars," so why did Wynonna Judd say "yes" now? In an ABC interview, the country star said, "This is the year that I'm doing things I'm not comfortable with." She also revealed that partner Tony Dovolani has established boundaries for her. "He says no tweeting after 9 p.m., go to bed at 10, drink lots of water. We practice four hours a day," she said.
Jacoby Jones's "DWTS" dreamJacoby Jones's road to "Dancing With the Stars" was almost as long as his road to the Super Bowl. The Ravens wide receiver is known for his end-zone happy dance, and his fellow teammates long told him that he should compete on the TV dancing show. According to Yahoo! Sports, Jones routinely announced that he was trying to be on the show and even followed his mother's mantra: "If you speak it in the name of Jesus and believe it, then it will come true." Mirror ball trophy affirmations, anyone?
Dorothy Hamill's skate debateThe Olympic figure skating champ knows her way around a rink, but the dance floor is another story. In an interview with "Good Morning America," Dorothy Hamill revealed, "I'm used to the skates and pushing. For me, I don't do well in shoes." The 56-year-old skater joked that fellow gold-medalist and "DWTS" competitor Aly Raisman may fare better on the floor because "she probably has a memory and I don't." Hamill also told ET, "What I'm worried mostly about is learning what I'm doing and trying to make it look like a dancer as opposed to an ice-skating elephant trying to do stuff on the floor." Wait, don't elephants have good memories?
D.L. Hughley's "shy hips"Comedian D.L. Hughley won't be steaming up the studio with pro partner Cheryl Burke anytime soon. The two-time mirrorball winning pro dancer recently told Access Hollywood, "He's got some rhythm, but his hips are shy. We're starting from the feet up, so he's gotta unleash that area -- then we'll talk!"
But fans can expect some bling while the comic works on that hip action. Hughley tweeted, "I got fitted for my #DWTS outfit! Let's just say it's definitely #BoogieFantastic to the fullest!"
Zendaya's G-rated routinesSpeaking of steamy, don't expect Val Chmerkovskiy to repeat anything like his sexually charged dances last season, when he was paired with soap star Kelly Monaco. This time the pro dancer is partnered with 16-year-old Disney star Zendaya Coleman, so it looks like "General Hospital" star Ingo Rademache will have to be this season's soapy steamer. (The soap actor is partnered with Kym Johnson.)
On his blog for Today, Val wrote of doing the contemporary with Zendaya: "I will most definitely do things differently … you know, last time I did contemporary, half the nation got pregnant! So I'm probably going to tone it down with Zendaya and take a different route! Less about passion and more about inspiration!" Need a refresher on Val's sizzling contemporary from last season? Check it out here.
Victor Ortiz's victory vocationThe pro boxer recently announced he's ready to win this season -- or at least fare better than fellow boxer Floyd Mayweather did back in Season 5. In an interview with XFinity TV, Ortiz said, "I heard about Floyd doing the show. I heard he was not that great. That's what I heard! I have no idea. I'm not biased! I say how I heard it." He also revealed that he plans to get dancing tips from pal Mario Lopez, who came in second place on Season 2 of the dancing comp. "He and I are big friends for years," Ortiz said. "I hope he can guide me. Why not? Get some two cents from a person who's done it!"
"Dancing With the Stars" Season 16 premieres on Monday, 3/18 at 8 PM ET on ABC.
