"Dancing With the Stars" is planning an all-star reunion -- at least that's what former contestant (and Karina Smirnoff ex) Mario Lopez dished while co-hosting "Live With Kelly" this week.
During a chat about the current season of the popular dancing show, Lopez told "Live" host Kelly Ripa, "You know what, Kelly? They're doing a 'Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars' this next season. They called me to do it!"
While Lopez said he's too busy to take on another chance at that mirror ball trophy, here's hoping that some of these past contestants are ready to rumba!
Kristin Cavallari (Season 13)
On "DWTS" Season 13, Kristin Cavallari headed for the hills too early! The MTV star didn't reach audiences in a special way during Season 13's Personal Story Week. Her tale-a samba about moving to L.A. after high school just didn't cut it next to stories like J.R. Martinez' rumba, which he dedicated to the families of soldiers who didn't get a second chance, or Rob Kardashian's dance tribute to his late father. Still, when KCav got the boot even Len Goodman declared, "Stop the madness!" and revealed that he thought Cavallari could have been a contender for finals. Host Tom Bergeron said viewers may have assumed the talented duo was fine and just didn't vote. But if the now-pregnant reality star (she and fiancé Jay Cutler announced her pregnancy in January) is looking for a way to shed those post-pregnancy pounds, viewers would welcome her back in the ballroom.
Brandy Norwood (Season 11)
If ever there were a season that pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy was poised to win this thing, it was back in Season 11 with partner Brandy Norwood. The couple's Argentine tango nabbed triple 10's on the show's 200th episode, no less, and they seemed headed for the finale. But Brandy was shockingly eliminated in the semi-finals, allowing Bristol Palin to move forward instead. Of course, Maks got a little hot-headed with judge Carrie Ann Inaba two weeks earlier, so that probably didn't help the couple's case, but Brandy was clearly short-changed.Gilles Marini (Season 8)
We know Gilles Marini can dance! The hunky French actor not only came in second place during Season 8 of "DWTS," but he even showed off his tango moves on an episode of the ABC drama, "Brothers and Sisters." Gilles and his partner Cheryl Burke nabbed a slew of perfect scores during their season, garnering 30 points for their Paso Doble, waltz, salsa, and Argentine tango. So why do fans want to see him back? Two reasons: To give Len Goodman's "10" paddle another workout and to right a major wrong: Gilles and Cheryl lost their season's competition to Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and her partner Mark Ballas by less than one percent of the vote!
Shannen Doherty (Season 10)
Second chances are great, especially when a person barely gets a first chance! Actress Shannen Doherty may have danced a measly 18-point Viennese waltz on her first foray on the floor, but her score still trumped Kate Gosselin's, Aiden Turner's, and Buzz Aldrin's. Still, the "Beverly Hills 90210" star and her popular partner, Mark Ballas, were the first pair eliminated that season. Perhaps it was sour grapes when the actress just said no to an invite to "Jimmy Kimmel Live," ("DWTS" contestants are traditionally guests on the late night talk show after their elimination), but when Doherty tearfully told Entertainment Weekly, "I'm not built for this, I'm not a dancer. It's not what I do, and it's really uncomfortable for me," you had to give her credit for stepping out of her comfort zone -- especially when Kimmel got a tad mean-spirited and said, "I'm glad I kicked her off. It looks like America has finally exacted its revenge on Brenda." Maybe it's her turn for revenge!
Sabrina Bryan (Season 5)
"Cheetah Girls" star Sabrina Bryan made a cute partner for Mark Ballas - both on and off the show. (According to TV Guide, they were an off-screen couple). The Season 5 frontrunners had definite chemistry, but were inexplicably eliminated on Week 6 of their season after a perfect-scoring Paso Doble just two weeks before. The couple's shocking elimination had the judges -- and a booing audience -- crying foul. Even Tom Bergeron told Bryan, "I had you so pegged for the finale." If anyone is a contender for a second chance, it's this girl.
