It was a bona fide shocker Tuesday night on "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars," when fan -- and judges' -- favorite Sabrina Bryan was eliminated from the competition following her moving dance on this week's country-themed show. In one short hour, this season's front-runner quickly went from country strong to country oh so wrong.
The former Cheetah Girl and her pro partner Louis Van Amstel were given the boot on Tuesday night's results show, despite their perfect-scoring rumba on Monday night to the Hunter Hayes song, "Wanted."
With a perfect 30 points, combined with last week's 29-point Cinderella waltz, combined with a high-scoring team dance, Bryan and Van Amstel were at the top of the judges' leaderboard, outscoring the bottom dwellers, Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy, by a full 10 points.
So where were Bryan's fans when she needed them?
They were certainly there for her before the competition; The 28-year-old singer was voted in by viewers as this season's 13th all-star contestant, beating out Carson Kressley and Kyle Massey for the coveted spot.
The hurricane effect?Monday night's super storm most definitely affected this week's votes. "Dancing With the Stars" was preempted in major East Coast cities due to coverage of Hurricane Sandy, which meant that millions of fans missed this week's country week dances.
Show producers even acknowledged that Sandy wreaked havoc on this week's show, when host Tom Bergeron announced that next week's planned live Monday night elimination would be canceled since so many fans were unable to vote this week.
With votes so totally out of whack, it's slightly surprising that producers went forward with this week's elimination. But this is the all-stars season, where no one is safe no matter what the circumstances.
A message to fansAfter her week 6 elimination -- which, by the way, was the same week she was voted out with partner Mark Ballas during her first go around on the show back in Season 5 -- a clearly upset Sabrina Bryan said to her fans, "Thank you guys so much, you voted me on this season. I did my absolute best because of you guys."
In a video message later last night, Bryan once again thanked fans for voting her on to the show: "Tonight was not what we expected, but Louis and I would not even be on this show without you. We appreciate each and every one of your votes and will never forget our six weeks on this 'All-Star' season!"
Of course, Bryan's two-time "Dancing" demise may be bittersweet. At least she and Van Amstel now get out of doing next week's bizarre tango/foxtrot fusion dance!
The next episode of "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" airs on Monday 11/5 at 8 PM EST on ABC.
