'Desperate Housewives': The Dark Sides of Felicia Tillman

Many of the characters of "Desperate Housewives" have dark sides, but when it comes to Felicia Tillman, we've never really seen a bright side. She's a character that we can't possibly like, yet we can't stop watching her either.

We met Felicia Tillman toward the end of the first season of "Desperate Housewives." She came to find out what happened to her missing sister, Martha Huber. Felicia seems sure that Martha is dead as soon as she finds out that her sister had been blackmailing Mary Alice Young. She was then convinced that it was Mary Alice's husband Paul who committed the murder, but proving it was another story.

Felicia Tillman continue the blackmail and got Paul Young to leave town, but in the process she angered his son Zach enough that he beat her with a hockey stick and caused her to fall down the stairs and injure her neck. She would finally be released from the hospital in Season 2 and revels in the news she hears that Paul Young has been killed.

When Paul Young is found to be alive, Felicia Tillman begins to plot her revenge. She actually goes as far as cutting off her own fingers, planting them in Young's truck, and leaving a large amount of her blood in his kitchen. The police arrest Young for the murder of Felicia Tillman and put him away for five years.

The next time we see Felicia Tillman on "Desperate Housewives" is the beginning of Season 7. After spending years successfully hiding, she is pulled over for speeding and it is discovered that she is very much alive. She is put in prison and Young released, though she once again plots revenge, this time encouraging her daughter Beth to befriend and eventually marry him. The two actually begin to fall in love before he discovers her true identity. The only glimpse of human feelings we get from Felicia Tillman comes when her daughter commits suicide, knowing her husband cannot forgive her for the lies.

Once again, remorse turns to revenge for Felicia Tillman and she uses Karen McCluskey and Susan Meyer to plot against Paul Young. Finally, at the end of the seventh season, she has her confession as Young admits that he did indeed kill her sister Martha.

Texan Harriet Samsom Harris, born January 8, 1955, plays Felicia Tillman on "Desperate Housewives." She has previously worked in stage and screen, most notably as Bebe Glazer on the television show "Frazier." Harris appeared in the critically acclaimed film "Memento" and won a Tony Award in 2002 for her performance in the play "Thoroughly Modern Milly."

The chances are pretty good that Harriet Samson Harris will return as Felicia Tillman in the final season to wreck more havoc on the lives of those on Wisteria Lane. Just because it appeared she died in a car crash in the Season 7 finale, chances are things are not that simple. How she will return will leave us all guessing - and probably gasping.
