The "Desperate Housewives" need a new start in the new year. What does that mean exactly? Well, January begins the last half of the last season. They've played out the dead Alejandro plot for nearly a year now. Why not tie up those loose ends and do something new as the series draws to a close? Here are a few suggestions.
Get the Alejandro thing over already
Send the girls to prison or don't send them to prison. Does anybody really care anymore? Gaby's dead stepdad has been the focus of the show for way too long. He's broken up the girls' friendship, turned Carlos into a drunk and pushed Bree to the brink of suicide. Alejandro died at the end of Season 7 and the plot just keeps getting more complicated. However that whole scenario ends, they should just get to the point and move on.
Let Bree go ahead and blow her brains out
The series is almost over. Bree should just go ahead and commit suicide. If she writes a suicide note taking responsibility for Alejandro's murder, her death would serve a noble purpose. She'd let everyone else off the hook. They'd probably close the book on Detective Chuck's vehicular homicide as well. Bree would be dead, of course, but she'd die a hero in the end. Besides, the series began with a housewife taking herself out of this world with a single shot, why not bring the girls full circle before the big finale?
Bring Tom back home where he belongs
Tom has had his fling. It's time for him to come back to Wisteria Lane where he belongs. That other woman may have seduced him into submission, but he's a family man at heart. When Lynette and Tom Scavo said "I do," they really meant it. It's time they remembered that.
How about a surprise wedding for Renee and Ben?
If Bree's suicide blows that whole murder problem out of the way, Ben and Renee will be free to continue their romance without a third wheel hanging on. They could fall in love or even get married. That would be sweet, and a final "Desperate Housewives" wedding would help end the series on a positive note.
Reunite Gaby with her biological daughter
That whole switched-at-birth scenario is just a teaser unless somebody eventually makes things right. That means reuniting Gaby and biological daughter Grace. That could get a bit complicated since the Sanchez family were deported a while ago. And what quirky twist of fate would get her back on American soil? The show would have to kill off mom and dad Sanchez, of course. Grace could then come to America and become a member of the Solis family.
