‘Desperate Housewives’: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Things are heating up on "Desperate Housewives" as the secrets begin to unravel on Wisteria Lane.

    The Good

It looks like the secret of who killed Gaby's stepfather will remain buried -- literally. At first there was a bit of a scare when Bree found out that Ben was building his low income houses on the lot where Alejandro is buried. Then, when Bree, Lynette and Gaby went to move the body, they discovered it missing, setting off panic, but it wasn't as bad as it seemed.

The good news is that it wasn't the police who found the body of Alejandro, it was one of Ben's workers. Ben had not yet called the police when Bree told him that the body was of an awful man who hurt a little girl, and a friend killed him before he could do it again (pretty much the truth). Ben was hesitant at first about not going to the police, but when he saw that Bree was being harassed by Chuck the detective, he agreed to get rid of the body and keep the secret.

    The Bad

The more people who know a secret, the harder it is to keep it a secret. The truth about what happened to Gaby's stepfather is becoming less and less of a secret. While Ben doesn't know the whole story, he knows enough, and now he's also involved in covering it all up. Mike was in the dark for a short while until Susan and Carlos had to tell him the truth rather than let him believe they were having an affair. Now Mike has (pardon the pun) dug himself deeper into this drama by becoming the man who reburied the body.

The biggest problem in all of this appears to be the mad and guilt ridden Susan. She stormed out of the house when she found out the women had not told her that the body had been found. Susan then went straight to the easel to paint the "angry" picture that her art teacher had been trying to get her to create. Unfortunately, this painting depicts five people standing over a grave and could be seen as a confession.

    The Ugly

It was totally unnecessary to show a gay rant painted by Juanita and Celia Solis across their garage. If the girls were angry at their parents for bringing in new potential guardians, that's fine, but their graffiti on the garage wasn't acceptable. We didn't need to turn two upset kids into perpetrators of a hate crime. Let's hope we never see something like that on "Desperate Housewives" again.
