'Desperate Housewives': Paul Young Can't Stay Out of Jail, but Will He Make it Back to Wisteria Lane?

Paul Young has been responsible for deceit, murder and mayhem since the first episode of "Desperate Housewives." It was his character who was married to the show's narrator, Mary Alice Young, who had committed suicide before the saga began. It was ironic - or maybe fitting - that his second wife would die at the same fate. Beth Tilman Young would also be distraught over the lies she told, but it was Paul who had always been telling the biggest lies of all.

Mary Alice Young accidentally killed Deirde Taylor after the former drug addict found made an attempt to claim back the son they raised, Zach. Paul helped his wife cover up this crime and it was a secret she could not live with. He was distraught when his wife killed herself and, after determining that it was Martha Huber who had confronted Mary Alice with the crime and led her to taking her own life, Paul murdered Martha.

It was the death of Martha that would send off a chain of events that would continue the storyline for years to come. Martha's sister Felicia refused to rest until she could prove that Paul was the murderer. When she couldn't do this, she got desperate, trying to get Mike Delfino - the real father of Zach - to kill Paul. The plan backfired and Felicia faked her own murder in Season 2, even cutting off two of her fingers to pin it on Paul.

With the exception of one guest appearance in Season 3 when Mike Delfino visited Paul Young in prison to discuss Zach, we did not see the character of Paul Young until he was released from prison in Season 6, after Felicia was routinely stopped by police for a traffic violation and proved to be alive after all. He would rent Susan and Mike Delfino's house and vow revenge on the neighborhood, using blackmail and threats to the quiet suburbia.

While Paul Young was deceiving his neighbors, someone was deceiving him. Her name was Beth and he had corresponded with her while he was in prison. Young then married her, not knowing that she was the daughter of Felicia Tilman and the niece of Martha Huber. He had no idea that her mother - now in jail herself - had led her into acting revenge for the family. Things would not go as planned after Beth Young fell in love with her husband, and he with her, but he couldn't forgive her when he found out the truth and it led her to suicide.

Mark Moses, whose brother Burke Moses is also an actor, has played Paul Young since the character was first introduced. He was born in New York on February 24, 1958 and obtained a theater degree at New York University. During the years he was missing from the "Desperate Housewives" cast, Huber played Duck Philips on the show "Mad Men." He's also acted on stage and in numerous movies, including "Swing Vote," "Platoon," "Born on the Fourth of July" and "Letters from Iow Jima." Moses has also done made-for-television films such as "Acceptance" with Joan Cusack.

At the end of Season 7, Paul Young was headed back to jail after confessing to Felicia Tilman (and then the police) that he really did kill Martha Huber. It looks as if Paul may be heading back to jail for a long time, but looks can be deceiving on "Desperate Housewives."
