The ice cream sandwiches consisted of Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream with a raspberry jam swirl, sandwiched between two double chocolate chip cookies. The sandwiches were called the "Killer Combo," a nod to the serial killer at the center of the drama.
These Coolhaus treats have some TV fans wondering what other TV shows deserve ice cream treats of their own. It's not such a weird thought: "Game of Thrones" inspired a line of beer from Brewery Ommegang, after all. From sitcoms to fantastic dramas, here are some shows that Coolhaus should make ice cream treats for next!
Considering there's already a line of beers inspired by "Game of Thrones," ice cream sandwiches seem like the next tasty step. Perhaps a "Fire and Ice" sandwich that blends hot cinnamon chip cookies with frosty peppermint ice cream? Alternatively, fans of the show know that Dornish girls taste like blackberry jam. A blackberry jam ice cream sandwich could be called "Tyrion's Delight."
There's always money in the banana stand, so it stands to reason that there would also be money in a chocolate dipped banana ice cream sandwich. Hey, it's either an homage to the Bluth banana stand or an ice cream sandwich inspired by the "Skip's Scramble," which doesn't sound appetizing in the least.
Since the fictional town of Pawnee is home to a candy company called Sweetums, a "Parks and Rec" ice cream sammie is a natural pairing. In homage to Leslie Knope's favorite food, the cookie layer of the sammie should be made of waffles. Of course, a sweet and savory chocolate-bacon sandwich could work as an homage to Ron Swanson.
"Breaking Bad" has already inspired "blue sky" candy and donuts, so ice cream sandwiches would make sense (especially given the summer premiere date for the final episodes of the series). An ice cream sandwich with edges rolled in blue rock candy would be quite the treat.
Since every "Hannibal" episode is named after some sort of French culinary term, an ice cream sandwich from Coolhaus would be a fitting tie-in. Clearly, the ice cream would need to be a dark red color with a red velvet cookie. Food and "Hannibal" might turn some people's stomachs, but hardcore fans would love it!
