Most fans of the CBS comedy "The Big Bang Theory" agree that Leonard (Johnny Galecki) belongs with Penny (Kaley Cuoco). Sure, they have very little in common, but they are just so darn cute together! They also have honest feelings for each other, and those feelings are not inhibiting them from finding happiness in their lives. This cannot be said for the relationship between Leonard and Priya (Aarti Mann).
Leonard spent much of his time with Penny feeling insecure about himself, and feeling like he wasn't quite the man that Penny was used to being with. Penny, on the other hand, felt like she wasn't smart enough or successful enough to end up with Leonard in the long run. Ultimately, her insecurities are what made her break up with him. However, she revealed in the season finale of "The Big Bang Theory" in May that she regretted breaking up with him. As insecure as both were, neither asked the other one to change.
After Penny dumped him, Leonard ran into the arms of Priya, Raj's sister. Priya is far more equal to Leonard in terms of success and education. Yet they have some serious cultural differences that are causing them difficulties, not to mention the fact that Priya is now going to be moving to India, which adds distance as another issue in their relationship. Perhaps more importantly, she told Leonard not to maintain a friendship with Penny. While Penny never once asked Leonard to change, Priya asking Leonard to give up the relationship of someone close to him crossed a line.
Yet Leonard went along with it. Is it because he loves Priya, or is there more to this relationship than meets the eye? Penny told Raj (Kunal Nayyar) that she regretted breaking up with Leonard, and of course Raj is one of Leonard's best friends. If Raj does tell Leonard what Penny said, the relationship between Leonard and Priya will certainly be tested. Only then will fans find out where his true feelings lie and if he is only with Priya because he is settling, or even because he is trying, on some level, to make Penny jealous.
