Double Dose of NPH! Neil Patrick Harris Will Host 2013 Emmys
The "How I Met Your Mother" star is also emceeing this year's Tony Awards.
If you want a funny, likable, charming host who can sing and dance, there's only one man to call — Neil Patrick Harris.
The star of "How I Met Your Mother" has been named the host for the 2013 Emmy Awards. It'll be his second major hosting gig this year after emceeing the Tony Awards for the fourth time on June 9.
"I couldn't be more honored and excited to be hosting this year's Emmy Awards," Harris said. "And what perfect timing — I'll just do the exact same script I'm about to use for the Tonys. 'And the Emmy for best revival of a musical goes to "Breaking Bad"!' See, told you it works."

CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said, "Neil is the quintessential host — engaging, entertaining and a true showman — with a passion for celebrating the medium we all love. We're thrilled for him to return for CBS's broadcast of the Emmy Awards."
The first time Harris hosted the Emmys, in 2009, he received rave reviews and the awards ceremony broadcast saw a ratings spike.

"[Harris] did a standout job, starting with the hilarious opening number, during which he showed his musical talent," wrote Reuters's Frank Scheck. The Los Angeles Times lauded him for "the smart but lighthearted and convivial tone."
Clearly, Tony audiences love him, with producers asking him back for a fourth time this year. With numbers like these, who wouldn't want him as host?
Harris himself is a serial Emmy nominee, with six nods and one win (for the 65th Annual Tony Awards). And the timing of this year's Emmys is particularly fortuitous — the ceremony takes place the day before the final-season premiere of "How I Met Your Mother."
The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards air Sunday, Sept. 22 on CBS.
