Emmy Fashion 2012: Ginnifer Goodwin's Red Monique Lhuillier Gown Is a Winner

Ginnifer Goodwin's red on pale Monique Lhuillier Emmy gown -- with a round neck, tight waist and flared skirt that's shorter in the front and longer in the back (the "mullet dress" is its nickhame) -- was wildly dramatic with her dark hair, pale skirt and nude lips. The simplicity of how she wore the dress -- small jewelry, little makeup -- made it stand out all the more.

Sometimes the drama of a red-carpet look is all about the contrast: a strong, intense dress really calls about for very simple hair and makeup.

This is definitely one of the best dresses of the night! It's detailed and simple, all at the same time -- and it's so great to see a print at the Emmys, too.
