"Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars " raised the stakes by having previous winners and previous hopefuls come back to see who is the cream of the crop.
Sabrina Bryan is giving it her all, which is evident in the fact that she was the first contestant to score a nine from the judges. Sabrina kicked off her dancing shoes and sat down to talk about competing against an all-star lineup.
Since this season consists of all-stars, how is your strategy different from the last time you competed on "Dancing With the Stars"?
In the fifth season, Mark (Ballas) and I were pegged as front-runners so we started to look at our routine and looked ahead in hopes to win the mirror ball trophy. I got eliminated in week six from the show, so unfortunately we didn't get a chance to do everything we worked on. For me it was pretty shocking. So this season I have been focused on taking things week to week and not think ahead at all. There looks to be so many exciting things to happen this season so I just want to take it all in.
I am excited for the long-time fans of the show. They will be in for a treat with what is planned for this season. This past Tuesday [Joey Fatone was eliminated] did bring me back to reality to show that anything can happen and that anyone can go home at anytime. I know that if I just stay focused on the dance that week and work hard, it will come through in my performance. I just have to dance the best that I can week in and week out.
I know all of the contestants are great performers, but who do you think so far is going to be the toughest competition?
For me, I look at Emmitt Smith. I was watching him perform on Monday. All the other contestants forgot how nerve-racking this competition can be for them. Emmitt was so cool. He was calm, cool, and collected the entire day. Everyone else was freaking out. Even Drew Lachey, who is usually even keel; you could tell he was focused and a bit jittery. Emmitt is just really calm. I think that helped him. The judges pinned me as over dancing a bit. I was nervous and excited, and had about every emotion going on in my body.
Emmitt gets in his Super Bowl game zone, and I don't think he gets nervous about anything. I think he is going to last way into the competition and make it to the final. He is the cutest and most lovable thing ever, and I think America picks up on that, and that is why he is the front-runner for this season.
What was your reaction to having fans of the show vote you in as the final contestant?
Oh my gosh! I was completely thrilled to get back on the show. Some people asked me if I was bummed that I had to campaign to get on the show. I was like "no." I think it is great to get voted in by the fans. You know that the people who vote are actual fans of the show. It was such a huge honor that out of the three people, I was chosen for that final slot to represent the viewers' choice. It is a big honor.
