    Exclusive Video: Watch the New Cold Open for The Vampire Diaries Season 4

    These are Elena Gilbert's fateful words in the brand-new cold open for The Vampire Diaries.

    In our exclusive video below, Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Stefan (Paul Wesley), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), Caroline (Candice Accola), Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) all lend their voices to the narration that will kick off the upcoming fourth season. A variation of this will be used in each episode to catch viewers up on major plot points that have happened thus far.

    Quite a lot has changed since the days that the Mystic Falls gang knew only about the vampires running around. (Re-watch Season 1's cold open here.) Now the opening mentions werewolves, doppelgangers, witches and hybrids!
