Five Reasons to Fall in Love with 'True Blood' All Over Again

Though "True Blood's" current season is still in the early stages, there are some signs that the show is back on track as far as storylines go. Here are a few reasons to fall in love with "True Blood" all over again. (Note: The return of Russell [Denis O'Hare] is a given, so he is left off this list.)

Tara Finally Has a Decent Story.

Tara (Rutina Wesley) has always had a sharp tongue, but aside from the rapid fire one-liners, the writers have long saddled her with the role of the never-ending victim. Even when it seemed like she was finally going to kick some butt (such as last season when she was introduced as a cage fighter), Tara quickly sank back to sad sack status. This year, all bets are off as Tara has been turned into the one thing she hated the most: a vampire. With all her pent up rage now amplified, Tara will be a force to reckon with, especially with the delicious Pam as her maker.

    Bill and Eric's Excellent Adventure

In the beginning, Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) were introduced as rivals that battled for the heart of Sookie (Anna Paquin). But now, both have been given a mission that bonds them together whether they like it or not, and it has formed one of the best odd couple relationships in recent years. Their bickering is a hoot to watch, and thanks to some great chemistry between the two actors, their new found friendship is truly believable. Maybe they will never trust each other 100 percent, but it will be fun to see them try.

    New Shades of Terry

It has always been hinted that Terry (Todd Lowe) has some demons to sort out, but now other than a few shell-shocked moments, we are now seeing them come to light. Even with all the supernatural creatures that are roaming Bon Temps, nothing seemed scarier than when Terry snaps at Arlene during one of his flashbacks. That might be the point though, that sometimes the bigger horrors are the ones we create ourselves.

Jessica and Jason, Will They or Won't They?

When these hotties first hooked up, it seemed that the writers desperately wanted them to be a couple. Of course there were a few roadblocks, such as Jessica's desire to remain casual (and Jason's guilt over taking Hoyt's girl). But even with the steamy seems, a new development occurred last week when the pair decided to just hang out and talk as friends. This was a refreshing change of pace and probably a relief to those who want Jessica and Hoyt to get back together.

    Roman and Salome

Sometimes new characters can be the death of the show, but other times they can add a true element of intrigue. That is certainly the case with Roman and Salome, two very powerful figures in the authority. Played with great skill by both Christopher Meloni and Valentina Cervi, these characters convey a certain menace that still somehow manages to be sexy.
