Fox’s ‘X Factor’ Moves Start Of Live Shows From Thursday To Wednesday

Fox‘s live editions of The X Factor will start a day before originally scheduled. The first live edition of the singing competition was slated for Thursday. But with the World Series ending early, the date has now been shifted to Wednesday, with X Factor resuming its regular Wednesday-Thursday pattern.

The Wednesday live show will introduce new X Factor hosts Khloé Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez, who will take the stage alongside the Top 16 acts and judges Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and L.A. Reid. On Thursday, the Top Finalists will be revealed and return the following week to face America’s vote.

Fox normally airs reruns on the nights earmarked for baseball if a series wraps in fewer than seven games. The aggressive move will eliminate a night of lights-out for Fox and will help The X Factor return to normal, recovering from the MLB-inflicted scheduling disruptions, which culminated with the Wednesday episode two weeks ago plagued by a rain delay and technical glitches and eventually re-cut as a one-hour that aired at 10:30 PM last Tuesday.
