    FX Orders Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys Drama The Americans

    FX has ordered 13 episodes of The Americans, a Cold War Era drama starring Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as married KGB spies, the network announced Thursday.

    Russell (Felicity) and Rhys (Brothers & Sisters) will play Elizabeth and Phillip Jennings, who keep their identities a secret from their friends and children while managing a network of spies and informants in Washington, D.C. The series will also star Noah Emmerich as an FBI agent who is the couple's neighbor.

    The series is created and executive-produced by Joe Weisberg a former CIA employee and a writer for TNT's Falling Skies. Gavin O'Connor directed the pilot, and the series will also be executive-produced by Justified showrunner Graham Yost.

    The Americans is scheduled to begin production in October and will premiere in early 2013.
