Recently fans of "General Hospital" were told that Kimberly McCullough will be exiting the show. She has played Robin Scorpio for several years. It will be a big change to see her leave, especially since they are talking about killing her off. If they choose to go that route, fans will be devastated. The fact her character has HIV has been widely discussed. Recently we have watched as the disease has been affecting her. These are some clues that she will be killed off the show.
Finola Hughes is returning
Anna Devane is Robin's mother and an important part of the "General Hospital" history. She is slated to come back for February sweeps, and possibly to be there when Robin dies. While nothing is confirmed, the speculation is that Anna will help Emma and Patrick cope when Robin gets too sick to help herself. The stint Hughes is doing will be for a while, and she will be front and center according to the rumors circulating. It will be nice to see Anna back, and perhaps others will return as well.
Robin has been acting funny
Recently Maggie walked into a conference room and found Robin crying over test results. Fans have known something was off for weeks, especially because she has been less abrasive than normal. The cut on her arm from the boat party has not healed yet, and that is what prompted her to take the tests she did. While Jason was in lock up at the police department, Robin went to talk to him. She told him what was going on and about her plans to run away. The friendship Jason and Robin have is something very meaningful and unique. There is a lot of love and mutual respect between them. He suggested she talk to Patrick instead of running out on him, but promised he would not tell Patrick anything.
Sweeps are important for ratings
Generally soaps take extreme care of what is supposed to air during sweeps. This is the time of year when the ratings become most important, and new and old fans tune in each day to see what happens. Right now, there needs to be big moves made in order for "General Hospital" to stay afloat in this business. Killing off someone like Robin will garner major viewers, and she was already slated to leave anyhow. If this is not the route the show takes, it will be a big mistake.
