George Clinton has filed for divorce from his wife of 22 years, TMZ.com reports.
The funk icon filed the documents in a Florida court, citing that his marriage to Stephanie Lynn Clinton is "irretrievably broken." According to the filing, the couple has "experienced long-term separation" during their marriage.

Clinton and Stephanie Lynn, who wed in 1990, do not have any children, shared property or bank accounts together.
