After winning a Golden Globe award for Best TV Comedy Series earlier this month, HBO's Girls has been renewed for a third season, the network announced Friday.
Season 3 will consist of 12 episodes, two episodes more than either Seasons 1 or 2.
Creator and star Lena Dunham (who also won a Globe for the show, for Best Actress in a Comedy) confirmed the news on Alec Baldwin's Here's the Thing podcast this week, saying that the show would begin work on Season 3 in March.
If her interview with Baldwin is any indication, the show will feature some exciting guest stars in its upcoming season.

"I'll come and play your therapist," the 30 Rock star told her. "You need a therapist."
"That would be the most fun thing in the world," Dunham responded.
